My wife has a 1st gen 12" PowerBook. It is a 867Mhz G4 with 640MB RAM (on-board 128 + 512 from Apple) with a 60GB HDD, Airport and Bluetooth and a Combo-drive. This is the way the machine was pre-config'd by Apple. It was essentially the base model with max RAM and HDD available at the time. Nothing has been added or changed to it. It has some cosmetic issues. Scratches on the casing, mostly on the bottom, but some on top. Nothing wrong with the screen or the keys. And the battery hold less than 20 min. charged and would need to be replaced to be used without power cord.

Any idea what we can expect to sell it for via Craig's list, eBay, or MR?

Thanks.

$450 would be conservative. I have a similar configuration.

You think that much with no Superdrive and needing a battery replacement. It is running 10.3.x and I think someone could bump the RAM up to 1.25GB. Plus unfortunately the scratches are not limited to the bottom, the top of the casing has some marks on it as well.

That estimate seems a bit high to me. Maybe 300-350?

as much as I would like to agree with the higher estimate... this one seems much more likely

i had a similar rev. a 12" powerbook:

867 mhz
640mb ram
40gb hard drive
superdrive
brand new battery from battery replacement program + decent old battery (1-2 hour charge)
original install disks, box, and manuals
included microsoft office (older version) cd
plus a few other accessories that i can't remember
excellent cosmetic condition (one scratch near kensington lock port, minor marks elsewhere)

all of this sold on ebay in december 2006 for $550.

given what you've described, i'd agree with peapody and say $300 to $350...

12" powerbooks are great. But this really is the bottom of the line. I agree with 350 shipped.
