I have a MacBook with the following specs:

2.16GHz Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM (I added this, will provide original 1GB RAM as well)
160GB Hard Drive
SuperDrive
System Restore Discs (Mac OS X 10.4 and iLife '06)
10 months old

How much should I ask for it? Make me an offer. The only reason I'm selling it is because I want a penryn MacBook Pros. This is my first time selling something online, would I still get bidders on ebay even though I have no feedback. Everybody needs to start somewhere I guess...

Thanks for your time,

Andrew

Having no feedback on eBay will definitely hurt you when the item is that big. Especially since Apple laptops are a big scam item on eBay.

Do you have any tips to help overcome this? Any other good ways to sell it? I suppose there is always the Facebook marketplace for my university

Well, you'll probably do just as well as anywhere selling it on here. But you could always try eBay with a reserve. Or Craigslist.

or if you have a friend or relative that you trust with higher feedback, you can have them post it for you on ebay. However I don't know if this violates any user agreements with ebay.

Good luck

I have friends that do a lot of buying on ebay but not much selling. Would using their account get me any further?

Would $1000 be too much to ask for? Apple is selling the refurbs for $1150 on the canada store. Those models don't have the upgraded RAM or hard drive either.

I doesn't matter if they buy or sell, it's still feedback. Depending on how much they have, it should do you good :)

I don't have any pictures of the MacBook but I'm going home for reading week tomorrow and my dad is an aspiring photographer so I will get some nice shots to put up here.

Hi,
is it a black or a white?

How much is your price?

since you're in canada, a potential (non-canadian) buyer may have to pay a customs tax.

customs aside, i think you can get around $950-$1000 shipped. probably a little more on ebay but as an ebay newbie, i think people will shy away if your first listing is a high priced item like this.

if you go the ebay route, buy some small items and sell some small items first. even if they sell for little (like a 512MB SODIMM might go for about $5), you'll hopefully get some positive feedback. i think at least 10 feedbacks (as buyer and seller) will help you :) even if the mbp penryns come out, it'll be a few months still before they update the macbooks.

and btw, here on macrumors, you can't say that leopard is installed if you can't include the proper licensing/media.

It is a white one. I'm thinking about $1000 and I'll cover the shipping.

Thanks for the heads up. I will correct my listing.
