its only a month old so yes has applecare to january '09....
These go for over 3000 new and Ive never travelled with it. Its like brand new in the box and I doubt its depreciated that much. Im sure it would go for more on ebay...

Odds are good it will go for more on ebay but you need to factor in closing and listing fees with ebay and paypal. Could you provide a general price range and maybe some pictures?

here is a pic of the config t apple store. Of course the crucial RAM I installed is nowhere near as expensive as apples bu it still makes it a 3000$ machine before tax and shipping. Like I said it is only a month old and barely used, never travelled with. As of right now it is the top-o-the-line macbook pro...
I would consider between 2700-2900 shipped in the US fair.
I will post some real pics soon...
also would come with a beautiful black Uniea case and clear black spec case (I dont use that)
also have guitar hero 3 for an extra 65$

About $2400-$2600 depending on the type of buyer. Ebay, maybe $2800 with a decent account. If someone offered you $2200 this close to a refresh of the line, I wouldn't be surprised.

I love when people post THAT infamous screenshot including the Apple RAM :/
It nullifies the entire post as I wouldn't pay for that RAM even if you did. It would be calculated as a $100 surcharge against the depreciation of the MBP and no more.

Good luck. That eBay auction has a 0 feedback bidder winning, which is as good as the internet cost that it took to render that page. $2600 is VERY reasonable, especially if there is a refresh tomorrow. You could get this brand new for $2900 ($2,749.00 for 2.6ghz stock MBP, $75 for the 4GB RAM assuming you sell the 2gb, $50 for the HD assuming you sell the 160gb).

mine has crucial ram which is more than 75 and has the 7200 rpm HDD which is 250 extra. check out the apple quote in the pic.
I appreciate your feedback though...

I have the same computer except without the 2.6ghz processor (4gb, 7200rpm 200gb hdd) and I know exactly what its worth. Yours should be worth $350 more then mine, which would peg it around $2300 if in fantastic condition.
There is NOTHING special about crucial RAM (its actually lower quality then some other brands at similar prices) and it is an extremely easy user upgrade. We're just trying to present a realistic feeler price, thats all. The 7200rpm 200gb hdd is not $250 extra, its around $160 street. You can't expect Apple upgrade prices, because nobody pays those.

True but calculate in ebay costs, etc. Your best bet would probably a local craigslist but it seems these boards won't pay you actual value but a little below and you need to factor that in.
And plus with the release of the new MBPs yours just dropped in value a lot.

Definitely just take it to eBay, I'd say. People here are too "in-the-know" so to speak.. stock 2.6 from Apple refurb is only $1850 + tax.. the HD and RAM upgrades don't add too much in value, so you'd be looking at quite a hit if you sold it here now (since the updates, I mean). eBayers just aren't that smart and they pay top dollar for the upgrades..they're still kicking off for $2700+ there. You'll lose a chunk in fees (if it were $2700, ~$140 after PP and eBay), but you'd still end up with hundreds more in your pocket than by sellin' it here.

Yeah i know. I bought my 2.2GHz about 1 month ago and now a 2.4GHz goes for the same price that I paid ($1650 new). Its amazing what happens to prices.

Care to back that up or name some names?
I usually buy crucial (only when it's not overpriced) on the understanding it's one of the best memory brands out there. What RAM has a better reputation at lower prices?
