Who else stays up later than they should looking at random sites like forums.macrumors.com just because they don't feel like going to bed? I get on my computer and check a few sites and then I just repeat the cycle. Does anyone have good advice for things to do when bored at home... with no one available or no fun activities to participate in?

I think I spend too much time checking the 'Community Discussion' board. But... it is a nice place to read about other people's issues and distract the mind.

Me. I read about a half dozen different forums... all night. Sometimes I go to bed about 5:30am. Sometimes I go to bed at 10:30 and wake up at 3:30am and do it until 9 or 10 in the morning. Then I go back to bed again.

I usually surrender to sleep anywhere from 10:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. And then I get up between 6:00 and 7:40 a.m. I don't set an alarm these days.

OMG, I thought I was the only one! You mean there are other people out there that are crazy in the same way as me? Sometimes when I leave a few comments in different forums I'll keep refreshing to see any new replies and see how the comments got up or down modded. I'll be super tired and have been following these comments all day, but I'll keep updating the page like I'm obsessed until the point that my eyelids are hard to keep open. I don't do it all the time, but it's definitely not an unfamiliar situation either.

Or is it just me?

I'm the same way... and it doesn't help that the time difference is making my body think that it is 2 hours earlier than it really is (Mexico), so I'm really screwed! Especially since I have to get up at 7am, which my body thinks is 5am! Ahhhh :(

One word. Engadget. I can amuse myself there for a good two hours each day.

In winter, sometimes in the middle of the night if I add a fairly large piece of wood to the stove in the kitchen, I stay down here to make sure it catches and then damp it down so it won't take off like a rocket later on.

So while waiting for all that to happen, I'm likely to cruise the online news, usually take a look at the UK papers, maybe look through MacRumors too.

Sometimes if I stay up and surf then I don't get up until 6:30 or 7am and then I'm mad because I feel like I'm running to catch up all day. I like that quiet time between 5 and 6 to greet the day gradually instead!

Between Macrumors, Talking on the Phone, TV, and just random "surfing," Im usually up till at least 2AM Sometimes a little earlier. Im so used to it now, if I try to got to bed before 2ish, I can't fall asleep. I always keep any threads I have made or posted to open, and keep refreshing them. As a side question am I the only one who gets mad/disappointed, when nobody responds to my comment in a thread? :)

Haha, you're not the only one ;)

I stay up late tons as well, around 2 AM.
Lately mostly at MacRumors.
I'm desperately trying to get my posts up so I can have a cool avatar!

Precisely what I'm doing now :D

It's only 12:24, too early to go to bed, on a Saturday no less. I was watching Two and a Half Men and Family Guy reruns that my TiVo recorded over the past couple weeks, and now I'm sick of watching those for awhile. And I'm afraid if I play Rock Band again and fail (3 songs away from completing guitar on expert, and I can't beat them!) I'll shove my guitar through my TV. So, I'm on the interwebs wasting time.

Actually yes I do! I live in VA, you'd think I could get some Sweet Tea at 1:30AM :)

I use the spy.macrumors.com site... and track what is coming down the pike...

i also keep a tab open on my user control panel, as it shows the most recent posts I'm subscribed to.
