OK, I realize this isn't "hardware", but this is the only Marketplace on Macrumors, right?

I have an upgrade authorization key for Aperture 2 that I'd love to part with -- here is my story:

In December 2006, I purchased Aperture 1.5 with an EDU discount ($149)...my wife was still in school at the time. Saturday night I purchased the upgrade ($99) online. However, it wasn't until after the purchase was complete that I learned that EDU software was not eligible for upgrades. This is unfortunate. It does say this if you look at the "Aperture 2 Upgrade" page at the apple store. However, you can only see that if you scroll down (and there was nothing, like an asterisk or footnote reference that would have made me scroll down). It does not say this when the upgrade is in your cart or at any point before you check out...which I think is kinda bad. But, OK...my mistake. Now Apple is refusing to refund my money. Because it's a software key, they are likening it to me purchasing boxed software, taking the key out, and trying to return it. Fair point, but it seems a little unreasonable.

So, now I'm trying to unload this software key and recoup a good portion of that $99. So questions:

(1) Is this legal? Can I sell this key?

(2) What is a reasonable price?

(3) Is anyone interested? If so...PM me.

Thanks!

Yea it's legal.

Usually with software keys, you take 15-20% off retail.

Agree with Mike. Check feebay for pricing, too.

Sorry you got stuck.

Good to know.

I was thinking $70-80 would be reasonable.
