Emm sorry if this is in the wrong place, it seemed the proper one(except that it said "Buying advice hehe):p
Anyway, Im selling my 12" 1.33GHz PowerBook to a friend for 350$, is it too little? I would sell it at a higher price but its phsyically abused, some dents, some scratches, quite a few bents among others :o It is 'practically new' on the inside as the screen, HDD, battery, RAM, AirPort Card and Slot-Loading Combo Drive were replaced last year (HDD this year) It has Leopard Installed as well as iWork and iLife 08'. Im quite desperate to sell it so that I can buy a stereo amp priced exactly at $350 :o BTW the specs are: 1.33GHz PowerPC G4, 512RAM, 40GB HDD (taken from an iBook) combo drive. Thanks in advance.

It depends on how bad the physical damage is. That seems low unless it is severely beat up.

Its just "unpleasant" really it makes it look like it doesn't work (which it does)
I took some pics with my iPhone take a look: [Part 1] 1-bend #1 2- bend#1 plus huuge dent, 3- I broke f2 and f12 whilst disassembling it 4- Bend #2 at the left speaker 5- effed up battery hehe Part coming in next post

1- effed up RAM slot 2-bend #1 from another angle 3-naasty scratch Apple did when they changed the dvd drive. His kind of understanding its almost like giving it away, so I hope i'll get 400$ at least. thanks for all the input.

Hmm, no, that's more than unpleasant. That's pretty bad.
I personally wouldn't buy a notebook with that much physical damage, but that's neither here nor there. If I were a person who would buy it, assuming you are legally transferring licenses for Leopard and iLife 08 and not just giving the person an illegal copy, I still think $350 is probably a bit low. I'd estimate... about $150 off for the damage, but that would still put you at $425-450....

Considering the damage, I would say the price is more than fair to you. anything over $400 would be ripping off your friend in my opinion.

mac2sell estimates the machine at $410, and that doesn't take into account the heavy damage...

Meh, the computer itself performs perfectly as the parts that were damaged by the accident were immediately replaced. As for leopard and iwork, He will get the license for iwork but the leopard one came from the family pack dvd (minex2, mothers and house imac) so i dont know if theres a license or something; please note he is somewhat of a close friend [cousins best friend] and lives a few blocks away so it could 'technically' be in the same household as the SLA says.. So yeah, $350 is a good price considering the aesthetics damage. Thanks again for the input.

Uhhh, not really. See this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=372709) about Leopard licensing.
But it sounds like your price is right, with or without Leopard. If the PB is going to a good home and the sale covers your stereo amp, go for it and enjoy the new amp!

Given that you are friends and the condition of the laptop, $350 is more than fair.
I always give stuff to friends and relatives for a steal.

yes it is that illegal.
whether it's that ethical, or morally right is the question for you.

I say that's a pretty good price, especially since it's going to a friend. You might be able to get more on eBay, but giving your friend a good deal may be better.

No eBay for me thanks. Hate eBay plus shipping it from Costa Rica would be a tad difficult.

If I were you, I'd do $375 just so you can make sure you an cover taxes and such for the speakers you're getting! haha! And those should be nice, I've got some $3,000 Bose speakers from the 80s (the two big ones are about 3' tall, and the smaller ones are maybe a foot and a half tall) that my great uncle left to me, and they're amazing you're going to love them!

Hmm thanks for the advice, but I'll still go for $350; need to sell them ASAP. Actually what Im buying is the amp with that money, the speakers were a gift from my dad :D I was gonna get some Bowers & Wilkins speakers but they were just waaay out of my reach (almost $800 ) Oh and those 301 are loud bastar*s, I went to the local Bose retailer to test them with low expectations and came out amazed. Thanks for the input.
