Wanting to trade an eMachines M5310 Widescreen Laptop with integrated wireless G.

Hoping to get 15" Powerbook G4 867 or better with Combo Drive and some warranty left. Airport also desired.

The laptop I have is in excellent condition only 1 month old and has 3 year Best Buy extended warranty, which is transferrable.

Basic Specs
Athon 2.4+ Mobile
512 mb RAM
40 gb HD
Wireless G (54mbps) integrated
DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
15.4" widescreen display

For more information on exactly what I have to offer, visit http://www.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=eMachines_M5310

I have not added any upgrades. Still have original box, docs, software, and warranty information.

Why am I switching (again)? I bought the laptop for an old job. I just took a new job and don't require this one.

Please no flamers.

Just would like to say that this is a great laptop. A friend of mine has one and nothing, but good experiences with it.

I will state the obvious:

I tried this too, but had no luck. You might want to try listing on eBay. I sell a lot of stuff there and have had very good results.

How about you try one and then make a comment? I'm sure he wouldn't come on your auction thread and make a comment like that.

i have seen them at cotsco which for one says enough there. but please ur comparing an emachine (value notebook) to a powerbook (PRO notebook). what do you think the 'e' stands for. ill tell you its not excellent

He isn't asking for top of the line, he is asking for a 15" Powerbook G4 867. Thats not exactly "Pro" anymore.

Whats Gateway have to do with Emachines?

$1200 new and your right about those prices on ebay, think someone would be crazy to pay 1600 for an 867mhz powerbook when you can get them faster than that now for that same price.

People will pay that for a PowerBook. People won't pay much for an eMachine. And yes, I have used them. Not as bad as they used to be, but... well, sorry. I'm not trying to flame. Just try eBay or something. AMD forum maybe.

You probably won't find too many takers here, but who knows, you could get lucky.

no **** eh, the nerve of some people. just sell it on ebay for about 500$ cause thats what you can expect to get and you should be able to pick up a powerbook 550 maybe

That was interesting.

Im not really trying to pull anything...This laptop is not quite a POS yet. Its only a month and a half old now. Its specs far exceed anything in the price range (even from Gateway) and I was just hoping someone out there may need to have a PC laptop (like me) for work or something and had a powerbook to trade.

Yes, it IS an eMachine, but I also have a 3 year service plan.

No need to get all worked up, I didn't think I would have any luck here.

its not that the specs are bad but i bet it weighs at least 8 pounds and is about twice as thick as a powerbook

People are so ignorant about PCs here. The emachine is just as good as any othe pc laptop. I work ay BestBuy and I always recomend it to people looking for a notebook in its price range because it is a lot better then the HPs and Toshibas in its price range. Its actually probably one of the thinnest laptops we sell and it only weighs 6.5lbs. Just because apple calls the powerbook a pro laptop, doesn't mean that it faster. A 15" PB 867 would have a hard time keeping up with the emachine.

Emachine = 1.3 inches thick 6.6 pounds

Powerbook = 1.1 inches thick 5.3 lbs

Peeps...settle...

heuer007, Its funny that you bash a PC you know nothing about when just a while back you were trying to sell two dozen PC laptops...Evo ring a bell. I thought I remembered you.

Anywho, if you not interested, just ignore the post. I think we've wasted enough peoples time with the PCs suck comments. And unfortunately, not all of us can use a mac at work...PCs still dominate business computing...Lets all hope that changes some day.

Leet, thanks for backing me up but looks like I will stick it out with my crappy 22lb emachine craptop :D

Problem is, most Mac people who have chosen to own a PowerBook bought it because they wanted a Mac, so offering to trade them a Windows machine, even a pretty nice one, isn't exactly going for your target audience. I'd try more places before you give up on getting rid of it, though. You might find a dissatisfied switcher to trade with.
