Hi, brand new here.
I just got a 20" alum iMac a couple of weeks ago. Love it more everyday. I don't have internet service at my house but there are several open wi-fi connections in my neighborhood I've "borrowed" on occasion. Nothing major(no p2p, bittorrent, ect.) just checking my email, browsing and updating software. My question is: how safe am I on these open networks? Can the owners see me and access my files?
I realize this is a sensitive subject for some, and I plan on getting my own internet service soon. I just want to protect my mac for the time being.
