I dream of MagSafe adapters you could put on existing DVI ports and DVI cables (USB & Firewire, too). Even if they had to be unidirectional*. That would be an interesting alternative to an official Apple dock.
* That is, oriented a particular way to attach, as opposed to the power adapter working "upside down".

Well, we have the MagSafe adapters that are super easy to just put on, without having to really focus on the task. They just kinda go in to the groove as the magnets come close.
DVI and USB require much more "precision". DVI is also much more complicated. I could see screwing up the pins by putting it in just slightly wrong.
But if you could attach a female MagSafe thingy to the socket, that has similar connections as the power cord, and did the same on the male end, you could just kinda put it near there and let the magnets guide you in. I'm being loose with the terms here, because I don't really know how best to do it.
And if you used adapters, you could sell 'em to PC people, too. Those that need to plug and unplug things all the time, anyway.

I dream of a completely wireless Macbook Pro, using WUSB and having power beamed into it using microwave transponders. Technology already exists today to do that.

Crazy posts lately. :)
We had this crazy adapter port thing thread.
And that other guy saying he wanted to replace his keyboard with the new "multitouch" keyboard?!
WHAT?!

My apologies, you're right. This isn't all that useful a thread topic. (If I could delete it, I would). I'll just stew offline about the crappy audio on the MBP.
