I guess I'll change this from a feel to a FS thread, then! I'll upload pics later tonight. I'm selling my Powerbook Pismo, the last of the Powerbook G4's. It's been heavily upgraded:

550Mhz G4
1GB RAM
80 GB HD (7200rpm)
DVD-RW DL drive
Airport card
newish battery, holds at least 2 hour charge

I'm looking to get around $550 for it, shipped. I'm basically selling since I want to get a Powerbook G4 12", so I'll also entertain trades for a 1.0Ghz+ model of the 12" Powerbook. No 867Mhz, please, the RAM limits kinda kill that for me.

Here's all the screengrabs I can get at work without my camera. Photos of the actual unit later tonight:

For some reason iBatt says it's supposed to have 10,000 mAh, but that's just crazy talk. I get around 2+ hours with regular use.

I'm guessing somewhere around $500, give or take a bit.

Okay, here are some pictures of the Pismo itself:

Ok, you can see that the DVD drive bezel doesn't look fantastic, and if I had the original one I'da swapped it out. But I don't, so there ya go. I'm happy being able to burn dual-layer DVD's, though, so the appearance isn't a huge deal for me. There is some light wear on it, but not much to speak of. The case is in really good shape. There are light imprints form the keys on the bottom left of the screen - but it's very light. Doesn't show up at all when the screen is on. The LCD is still crisp and bright, and really, the computer overall is in fantastic shape. Oh, and the IR port cover is missing.

This will go on eBay if I don't get any good offers here, or any interesting trades. I'll still offer some kind of deal for MR members if it gets put on there.

How does it perform on YouTube? That's usually how I test a computer's speed. Is it choppy before a ~:30 video fully loads? How does iTunes, iMovie, and iPhoto work?

iPhoto works ok, I use it a lot. Never used iMovie on it. iTunes is fine, just can't play HD (wouldn't matter on a screen with this resolution either way, of course). YouTube, well, it is choppy if you don't wait for the full thing to load. Then it's fine and smooth.

I have the disk for iLife '04, if anyone wants it with the laptop.

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powerbook_g4/stats/powerbook_g4_867_12.html

*Apple officially reports that the maximum memory capacity of this system is 640 MB with 128 MB of onboard memory and a single 512 MB memory module. However, third-parties have been able to upgrade the RAM to 1152 MB with a single 1.0 GB memory module.

Its just like my Dell C640.

Dell says only 1GB, but I have a 1GB chip and a 512MB chip, giving me 1.5GB that all shows up to the computer.

Other than that, very sexy book sir.

BTW, hes a good trader. (That MBP poster hangs above my bed. :D)

EDIT - Just noticed the link. Looks like someone already snapped it up. Congrats!
