DVD to VCD

say a guy wanted to make a LEGAL back up a DVD that he LEGALLY bought on to a CD-R (i believe the format is supposed to be VCD) anyone have any idea how to do so? ive heard many peecee friends were able to do it, but i'd love to be able to do it too, to further prove macs can do anything peecees can, but better.

so my question, how do i do this? what apps do i need? how can i use them?

i dunno if it'll help, but im running a new 1.25 15" pbook with superdrive

okay, ive looked through these sites for a couple hours now, and still come up with nothing... anyone do this first hand? or have another website with some information on how to do this?

If you have a super drive why would you not want to make a DVD copy of the movie you own.

arent blank DVDs a lot more expensive than cd-rs? lol, im so poor right now, im in college and i just bought the new albook 15"

DVD's are about a dollar a piece, but the quality of dvd is so much better than vcd. i think it is worth it

put the dvd in
go to disk utility disk copy then click on mount image, it makes it an iso and there u go

okay, i picked compressed from the pull down menu, cuz that was the default... what do i do after disc copy is done though?

What format is used for VCD's? Is it an Mpeg1 or something else?

I believe it is Mpeg-2
