I have dated my current girlfriend for about 2 years now. She has been pressuring me to propose but I don't feel comfortable with the idea of sharing my mac with her (he he he).

I've only been dating my current girlfriend for about a year & a half...

since I met here though....I've felt that "connection" unlike anything I've felt with any previous girlfriends....even after nearly 3 years...

so I'm in the "not married....but plan to with the one I'm with" :p

we talk about it...but realize we need to do certain things in our lives before we take that step....so it's a matter of time I suppose...

married five years-together 8 years ( with 18 month old daughter) and its all good.

not to be confused with its all easy....marriage is a lot of work but man, having someone as the ultimate friend-it just gets better and better with time.

Living with girlfriend. We've been together for 4 1/2 years and will worry about marriage once we finish college.

It's sort of an inevitability for us. We've talked about it, we know where we're going. We're just not in a hurry to get there.

Living in sin never seemed so right. ;)

My girlfriend and I have been together for a year and four months. She and I are going to be seperated for the summer though, as we are going to be on completely different sides of the country for a spell.

I'm about as married as i can be... we've been together a year and a half, and are very happy together -- eventually when we can afford it, we'll have an actual marriage ceremony...

i was in grad school and working on a really cool model boat (very detailed) and then i got married

now the boat is only one day a week and school, well that is now at a snail's pace until i finish and get a "proper" teaching job teaching seniors at the college instead of teaching seniors at the elementary school

...and yes, i live in a retirement area and i am not too far from reaching AARP age myself...one has to be 50 and i will be 40 next year...but i will join since it has its cool perks...i guess we can count each other's grey hairs and talk about the appropriate-ness of george foeman's prosrate commercials

i will, for my health, get one of those tests next year...and i can't imagine that it will be considered a hot date or anything...i guess i will at least make sure the MD is a hot looking female;)

hey arn, don't censor this since you are a physician...he he

I live with my girlfriend, she is cool and of course she wants to married me. I though I was prepared for it but in Venezuela every single girl is hot and I want them all!!!! So, I think that bilogically I'm not that satify yet and I'm not getting married until my sexual needs are agree too.

But the reality is that I do not have money to do it. I do not even have a stable entry! One of my best friend (he is 25) just divorced because of that. Well, that is something very common in my country right now when we are un such economic depression.

Just to drop you some nomber I just found out. The cost of the public system is 700billion dollars, I mean, that is the money that the gouverment has to paid to public schools, hospitals, administrative offices, mayors, etc. We have today in the federal reserve 7billion dollars. That is the money just to pay people, not to even build roads or change a light bolt.

If we remove this president that is covering everuthing up by the way, the gouverment would have to fired 80% of the public personel at list.

I really would like to be in the US when that happend.

Hi everyone. I've been a macrumors.com fan for a VERY long time and I finally became a member. This place has the best rumor forums and the BEST people to talk to.

Now on the topic....

I'm a sophomore in college and will be finishing up my year next week. Being in college has it's advantages when looking for a girlfriend/boyfriend. I almost went to ASU which had 50,000 student and 32,000 of them being women. Even though I decided to come to KSC, there are still more women than men so there has to be at least one girl here for me.

MACS RULE!!!!

Ouch, sounds like you might need a distraction. Personally, I've gotten more work done when I wasn't dating anyone, and I could spend more time on my computer. Now being married, owning a house, and having a dog has significant reduced my free time.

Even if it might not be a prefered situation, realize what you have and don't worry about things that will change anyway. Hope you're ok, good luck.:)

yeah...I have a ton of distractions presently....still doesn't help a whole lot at the moment...

we're in the midst of a bad "patch" if u will....going on 2 months since she moved...neither of us are phone people....if u understand that much then u know what I mean...long distance really sucks ass...

things aren't official....but it's just been a really bad morning....:(

I'm probably not taking my trip on friday to visit though....so I don't know what's going to come out of it...

but thanks for concern... ;)

My 8 year wedding anniversary is this June. I've known her 10.5 years.

No kids, just a dog.

Hey Arn, you're an MD? My spouse will be an MD officially on the 19th. Where/what do you (practice? resident? specialty)

Married...

Question? How many people who are married or have sig. others who do not like computers?

Me, though my wife and her family like email, she has no interest in a new computer to replace her aging PC. I think she would love a new iMac or iBook, but she's like, "Whatever"

We saw a commercial last night for a Compaq that cost about 800 dollars. (Compaq... ha, that's funny)...

Anyway, she said that she couldn't believe we paid 2-3 grand on a desktop a few years ago, and they are only 800 now. Then she said she won't buy another to replace the old compaq we have now.

At least she'll consider a laptop. Next step is to get her to agree that macs are the way to go.

Baby steps... that's the key with women. You have to talk real slow and use little words. They'll catch on eventually.

(I'm kidding of course)

That and convincing them it was their idea in the first place. One other trick you might use is to take her into an Apple store. With all the computers out there to play with, its awesome.

I'm going to have a hell of a time convincing my wife to that I 'need' a G5 or what ever it is in 6 months or so. I'm starting to work on her now, so we'll see. She's a PC person, because of work mostly, but loves the mac, so its not going to be hard to sell her on that. Good luck to you mcrain:D

Don't you think that women would prefer a Mac over a PC? I think so. The Mac is so elegant looking, smooth to the touch, damn easy to use, and not intimidating. A PC is ugly with sharp edges and is very intimidating to use sometimes. When you talk about computers with women, what's the first thing they mention? How it looks. Some women don't care about what's under the hood, they just want a computer that isn't ugly. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know if I want to get involved in this one. But you should get jefhatfield to make it one of his threads. I'm sure it would be a great place for many a heated conversation. Especially if some of the women members decide to join the fray.....:D
