I have a VHS cassette tape, some documents, and a product guide from around 1994-1995, showing Apples lineup.

The tape is about how Apple conducted an experiment on the town of Jacksonville, by giving the small business owners Macintoshes to help them become more productive.

Its all quite old, and the tape plays like an infomerical. My father ordered this way back in the day from Apple. This has been sitting in its box for quite a while, and I'm trying to figure out how much it would be worth to a collector.

I get the feeling that what I have in my hands is extremely rare, as I cant find any information about it on the internet.

Suggestions? I'm looking to clear up my room some of all the stuff I've collected over the years, getting a bit of cash to scrape together, as I want to upgrade my main computer.

I will get pics in a bit.

The only tidbit I could find is this - http://www.fortunecity.com/lavendar/westbridge/448/trade-othershows.htm

The tape is from 1994, is 17 minutes long, and is called Changing The Rules - The Jacksonville Story.

The pamphlets are about the Apple CD 300e and 300i, An Overview of Apple Products for Business, a letter from Apple, a pamphlet on a Quadra 605 Productivity Solution, a survey to fax for Mobile Computing Solutions, a spec sheet for a Power Mac 7100/66, and a companion booklet for the video. The tape was never watched by my dad, and I watched it only once, opening the shrink wrap some years ago.

sign up with one of those sites that pays you you like 2 cents for every time someone watches your Youtube Videos. Then upload it, and you will get some money perhaps!

Keep searching for a value/buyer.

It does sound rare.

Metacafe pays you for every visitor if you get approved for "producer rewards" or whatever they call it. Theres some big money to be made if a lot of people watch the video, but remember the copyright issue.

Anything even close to it in the current or competed transactions in eBay's apple memorabilia section? That might be a place to start if you don't get much here.

Couldnt find anything.

I'd ideally love to get enough to buy myself an 8800GT or so.

But thats a snowballs chance in hell of getting that much.

I've been interested in noodling with DEVONagent for deeper searches so I downloaded a demo copy from mupromo.com. I did a couple of searches varying terms (like "apple computer memorabilia prices") and found some resources for computer collectors (like vintage.org). If I were you, I'd gather 5 or 10 sites, scour for contact details and ask, ask, ask. There HAS to prices somewhere and if anybody knows, it's these collectors.

I believe there are also special interest boards on ebay and it would also be worth putting out a feeler there.

Best of luck!

I would think your best bet would be to track down whatever people in Jacksonville were involved/in the video and see if they're interested. It may be something you would feel pleasure in donating to the local library in Jacksonville. I know that doesn't get you any cash, but at least you're doing something good with it.

Post it on eBay.

Or change this to "For Sale" and we collectors will make an offer to you.

Pics would be nice...

Just burn it and dance around the flames. :D

Jokes aside, I would just post it on Youtube, that way everyone can just experience it.

I cannot see a VHS being worth more than $20 bucks. I know it may be rare but perhaps it would be better to burn it to dvd to sell?

I think the odds of this being worth a lot of money are slim unless you found one of the people in the VHS that would want it for personal reasons.
