I've got a Nikon D200 with 1100 actuations and a scratched sensor. Externally the camera is in amazing condition, it is almost brand new... but a week or so ago during a less than rational moment, the sensor was swabbed in a poorly executed way. It was not me who swabbed it, but a friend of a friend.

I've attached two images, one was shot at f4.5 and the other was shot at f22. The scratches become more obvious above f11 or so... but below that they're hard to see.

I'm not sure what this is worth, the sensor glass can be replaced an it's not that expensive to do.. but I wanted to see what I could get for it before I go that route.

Opinions on a price, please?

Is the scratch that horizontal line going across about 1/3 from the bottom on the second pic?

Yes... it is. As I said, when stopped down you can see it.. but in the top photo (taken with the same camera) you can't pick it out.

As far as price, I'd guess it would bring about whatever D200s normally bring minus a little more than the cost of fixing it.

EDIT: I just realized that my original comment wasn't very helpful. A quick look at CL showed D200s as low as $850, so I'd say $550-600 is reasonable.

I believe that the complete sensor replacement costs $290. I could be wrong though. Might want to dial up Nikon :).
