Possible To Buy 200 Dollar ipod Touch?

Do you think it will be possible to get a 16 gig ipod for 200 sometime this summer?

I want to make my senior software eng project some kind of app for the ipod touch/iphone and I Would like a year or so to get familar with the SDK.

I heard prices may go down this summer so maybe apple will sell me what I want.

You don't actually need an iPod Touch/iPhone to develop for them. There is a simulator with the SDK. The only exception is if you are going to use the accelerometer.

As for a 16GB iPod Touch for $200, I doubt that. You might be able to get a used 8GB for that price, but not a 16.

yeah i dont see a 16gb selling for that low but i know at the there forum im apart of peeps have a hard time selling them and one just went for like 250 shipped

I am trying to save as much money as possible because I also need to buy Leopard. ;)

Hey! I know this probably isn't what you wanted but... I have an 8gb touch that I may sell this summer and get a new iphone instead. I'll sell it for $200 maybe if you'd still be interested later this summer. It's in great condition and has the january software upgrade. I keep all my apple toys looking pristine, lol. It's just a thought, tell me what you think. Thanks !

Maybe later in June mine will be free... I know when I get an iPhone I won't use the touch anymore... though not $250, it's only got 2 scratches on it and all the original stuff.

Will keep both of you guys in mind. I'll see where my financials are at the time to determine which I get. Of course if the prices drop I'll get a new one.
