ipod headphone problem

My earbuds that came with my ipod have crapped out. They were fine until the went through the washer in my pocket. When I have the iPod at full volume I can hardly hear them. Is there any way to clean them or fix them?:confused: Thanks in advance

How old is your iPod?
If it is still under applecare, just take it up to the genus bar at your local Apple Store and they will just give you a new pair.

At least that was my experience when my remote crapped out.

In fact they didn't even check to see if I had applecare...
