imac stopped working ONLY on cable modem

My imac was working for the first two months on my motorola surfboard modem and then one day it just stopped. At first I thought it was the modem. I unplugged it and reset it. I did all the steps that mac says to do. Then I plugged my compaq notebook into the modem and it works just fine. So I took my imac to the mac store and they plugged it into their lan line and it works just fine. So when I got home I reinstalled my OS X 10.1.2 (I know it's old but that what it came with) I did a clean install and it still does not work. Someone please HELP!!!!!!

It is a long shot, but maybe you have a bad lan cable? Did you try that.
