So, I'm thinking of upgrading to a new iMac, and am wondering what I can get if I sell my current one. Specifications are as follows:

Model: iMac G5 (Ambient Light Sensor)
Processor: 2.0 GHz G5
Display: 20"
RAM: 2GB of PC3200 DDR
Video: ATI Radeon 9600 (8X AGP) w/ 128MB of VRAM
Hard Drive: 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA
Optical Drive: 24x/24x/8x/8x/4x/2.4x CD-RW/DVD±RW/DVD+R DL Superdrive
Airport Extreme Built-In
Bluetooth Built-In
Ethernet (Gigabit) Built-In
Modem (56K) Built-In
All original discs included (OS X.4 Tiger), and would ship in original iMac box.

I haven't sold anything online in a while, but I do have feedback under Elan0204 on eBay and on Heatware.

The iMac is in perfect condition, both cosmetically and functionally. Let me know if I've missed some details that would be necessary to help me come up with a price. Thanks for the help!

I used the website www.mac2sell.net for that price, it's quite accurate here in the UK perhaps no so much is the USA.

Still it's worth what someone will pay for it.

yea we are talking about a computer 2-3 years old that was around a grand to begin with lol

i say 600ish

you can get a new one at 1200 so 900 is def way too high

Best case, $700. I'd say shoot for $600 plus shipping and be prepared to go down. Look at ebay, and you'll see G5s going for less than $500.

Way off, try $1799. I bought one just like it new for my son when he went to college. The 20" was the high end at the time. Link:

EDIT: I just saw one on our local Craigslist for $700. Ouch! The Intels have really clobbered the prices of the older Macs unfortunately. BTW, it was a great computer.

Is this the last revision before the intel versions? Built in iSight? Thanks

I sent you a private message, alansmallen.

This was the revision prior to the one that added the iSight, so there is no built in camera. This revision added the Ambient Light Sensor (among other things), which basically adjusts the brightness of the sleep light based on how much light is in the room. So the light pulses more brightly in the day time, but then dims at night to not disturb you while sleeping. :)
