I am thinking of buying this Dell 18" LCD monitor.

At the bottom of the sreen it say PC compatible. Does this mean I can't use it for the Mac? I am running Panthar with G4 450. I have read some places that you can use it. Does anyone have this monitor, or any Dell LCd for that matter? Thanks.

Aaron

Also does $442 New, shipped sound like an ok deal?

Yes you can, as long as they have the same connectors, a lot of MR members have Dell monitors on their macs.

I'd stear clear of Dell, look an electronics company, eg: Sharp, Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Beuq. These guys make great LCD screens at amazing prices and can be used with both DVI and VGA

I thought Dell LCDs were just rebadged NEC displays...

Dell uses regular DVI for their monitors. You may have to buy an ADC-DVI converter if you dont have a higher up mac video card (youre SOL is you only have a VGA connector). But, since that link doesnt work anymore, I cant see if its the ultra sharp or not. If it isnt an ultrasharp then you may get a VGA connector, which is better for you because you more than likely wont need an adaptor.
