My uncles friend just came over with my aunt's brother and he happens to work very high up in a company that tests the iPhone for the FCC. He let me hold the new phone and I managed to sneak a photo of it when he left the room. Now the speculation can finally stop!!!!!
This is obviously fake people!

he said it is only going to cost $5 because all the cell phone companies are going to subsidize it.
Also, can't see it in the picture but he also said adobe almost had photoshop ported over to cocoa touch and the camera is at least 8MP with a 10X zoom.

"And after I held the current iPhone in my hand and took a picture, I was able to photoshop on some circular thing that's supposed to be a camera."
If you want me to list every reason that this image is an obvious fake, I will do so, but come on...butter up on the photoshop skills before trying to pass THAT off as real.

Actually its a Aperture Icon.
I see all the previous fake photos have washed away everyone's ability to sense sarcasm and humor.
perhaps the "uncle's friend came over with Aunt's brother" didn't give it away.

well considering they are all "totally fake" I thought I would lighten the mood. I thought I made it obvious enough that it was fake. Didn't expect people to think I was serious.

At least it's not another one that's easily distinguishable as a colorware job. Every iPod I have ever seen has a bunch of info on the back, whereas those colorware jobs just had the logo (not even the capacity!). One born every minute on the Net.
I doubt the new iPhone will look much different from the old one. The iPod Classic hasn't changed all that much (aside from the click wheel) since the beginning.

I agree with you. They iPhone has carved its image into society already (and it really stands out--in a good way) they are not going to change it much. And they sure as hell are not going to have it in white (that was hideous). At least my picture looks good (the iPhone in the picture not the actual photoshopping).

It looks exactly like my iPhone...OH MY GOD, I HAVE A 3G IPHONE AND DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT! :)
One thing I just thought about is how Apple spent at least 2 years developing the first one. I don't think that's going to be thrown away after just a year for some grand new design. If it's not broke, don't add Windows to it.

OMG WTF this can't be the new iPhone! Apple didn't change anything! They just added that stupid thing to the top left. Apple better change the design by the time of the WWDC, but how could they in such a short amount of time??!! Omg I'm losing all faith in AAPL..

Now you seem to be very reasonable.
Would it make sense for Apple to announce this without immediate availability?

Congratulations, people. I imagine it's been a long and arduous process allowing your sense of humor to atrophy sufficiently to take a thread such as this seriously. But do not fear, your great journey towards humorlessness is almost at an end.
Soon you will become addicted to Two and a Half Men, and the cycle will be complete.

Or possibly The Big Bang Theory.
