Holding large, hardcover books up to my MBP's iSight got old after the 4th one and intolerable after the 6th. :p

Shipment would be to Pa zip 18848 and payment via paypal.

See if you can find a CueCat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CueCat) with a USB end. I have a few (I worked with the guy that "co-invented" them) but they are all the ps/2 versions. Its just a cheezy bar code reader. You could use it at a checkout counter if you had the correct drivers.

a work around, but you'll need a 2nd display or 2nd computer to "remote" into the MBP:

Close the lid almost all the way, so it's only about 2-3 inch from being "closed". This points the isight down. so you can insert a book into the "slot" much like the local library does.

Or, if you are a bit more daring, turn the MBP upside down, so the LCD is flat on your desk. You'll need to support the rest of the unit, possibly up against a wall. Now you can scan super market style.

Good luck!

Try to purchase an older iSight with Firewire cable from eBay.

Mine came "de-clawed" but I can't remember where I purchased it. I think the ones on Ebay are too, but make sure before you order.
