Hey everyone,

I'm looking at buying a wirless card for my girlfriend's powerbook and I just became aware of the fact that you can buy 802.11g (airport extreeme) cards that plug into a PC card slot. ( for example AirStation from Buffalo Tech. www.buffalotech.com) They are appealing to me becaue of the price point, and the .11g speed.

Anyway, I had heard from a friend that the connection of wirless cards is severely limited by the PC card slot. Is this true?

Thanks for your expertice!

Shouldn't be true.

It is not true. I think the pc card slot runs on a simaler bus to that of regular desktop pci cards. The desktop pci slot is capable of getting gigabit eithernet, so why would the pc card slot not be able to handle 54mb/sec.
