I am a Mac User with a new Sony TRV350 camera. I have had success in converting my old sony 8mm movies, but I can't get vhs to convert. I set the camera to VCR, on the menu options, selected "A/V->DV OUT ON" told iMovie (later Toast 6) to import, hit play on the VHS VCR, with no success.
I had expected that the tape in the VCE would be recorded onto the Digital-8 tape in the Sony camera, but it didn't happen. The only computer image was a single blank frame. Then I removed the tape, did all of the same things, but it only downloaded a blank movie of several minute length.
Toast wouldn't let me do anything without a tape in the camera.
I will greatly appreciate any help, as the VHS is a memorial tape of my Mom.
