After I import all of my pictures in iPhoto, is it safe to trash the originals? Seems silly to duplicate that much data.

related question: how do you tell the capture app to stop opening everytime a flash card is put into the reader? I like to move my files over to my own folder myself thank you

In Image Capure, select "None" from the "Hot Plug Action" pull-down menu.
