dock icons disappear

when i go to eject something, the eject icon that normally appears is now replaced with a blank piece of paper.

and on my guest account, some of the icons don't show up at all ... just a big empty space where they used to be.

any ideas about what i should do? i tried to repair permissions but that didn't do anything.

something similar (invisible icons) happened to me, i just tried re-dragging the icons into the dock and it worked fine.

Have you tried repairing permissions, or (gasp!) rebooting?
