I'm rather new to the Mac scene and though I'm looking to upgrade my powerbook from 512MB ram to a gig, I have no idea how to do it... Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

It should be listed in your user manual. (that's the nice way of saying RTFM!! ;))

I considered posting a link, but I'm about to fall asleep on my PB and drool all over the keyboard :p

It came with a user manual? :D Kinda just took it out of the box, started playing with it and never looked back. Probably have that around somewhere still...

Seriously though, thanks for the help!

Very easy - I've just done this.Take off the battery and there are I think 2 very small screws (Philips size 0, but a knife might work). Take off the RAM cover and press in the new RAM module. Then close up and try About This Mac to check it is recognised.

All takes about 10 minutes.

BTW, if you have not bought the RAM yet, Apple is the most expensive place to get it. I got mine from crucial.com.

Good luck
