My Mom wants to get my dad a new computer for christmas (his current machine is an old 20Mhz mac clone ) and the cheapest 17" iMac fits what he needs perfectly.

He doesnt need much processing power, but he wants a big LCD.

But I am shopping for myself too ;) because I know he won't use this computer much and I am sick of this damned PC. So there needs to be at least a good amount of processing power.

So I am looking for something along these lines:
-800Mhz g4 iMac (to my knowledge this is the slowest processor possible with the 17 incher)
-Dont care about Hard Drive size but Im pretty sure it sold from apple with ~60GB
-Dont care about software
-Fully working
-Must look nice, this will be in a room where guests are and where the family is a lot. Nothing noticibly wrong with it physically.
-At least 128 MB of RAM
-CD-R/RW - DVD would be nice as would superdrive ;)

I am (and by I, I mean my mom ;):D:D) willing to pay $1,200 + shipping.

Paypal would be best method of payment.

I'd buy it refurbished from the apple store, but they have none ><:
they have:
iMac G4 800MHz/256MB/80GB/SuperDrive/E/56K-17" - Refurbished for $1200, which I would buy in a second, but it isnt available at the moment...

so this is where ive turned to in order to get my Dad his christmas present :).

Thanks,

I bought a computer, so I'm no longer looking for an iMac. Thanks :).

I have convinced my mom to also get a
-1GHz 17" iMac for no more than $1,300.

(the price from the apple special deals section)

So if anyone is looking to sell one of these you have a potential buyer.

I have a 17" imac 800mhz and I am thinking to sell it as soon as I receive my cube.
here is the spec.

G4 800mhz
768mb ram
Geforce4mx 32mb
80GB Hard drive
SuperDrive
AppleCare
I also have speaker with isub. I might or might not sell them.

I have all the original CD but no box. I will install Panther on it as well.
There is only 1 dead pix on the screen and the LCD is a bit tilted to the right side as everyone else's does too due to the rev. A 17".

let me know if you are interested.

If your talking about the one in the refurbished apple store, then I'm afraid that one has been unavailable for quite some time.

I am definitely interested iT4c0
