A. 12" G3 iBook ($250 shipped?)
- Sort of a niche item in 2008, I realize.
- 600MHz
- 640MB RAM
- 16MB VRAM (1024x768). Tiger runs very smoothly, even with Dashboard and Exposé. It won't (in my experience) with any older, 8MB VRAM machines.
- CD-ROM
- 120GB hard drive
- Good condition, original power cable.
- Battery at 4249/4297 mA capacity, 31 cycles. IE, new battery.
- Original Airport.
- Keyboard not stinky.
- Logic board not funky.
- Rubber feet intact. That means really good condition.

What are the specs on the 500 giggers? Brand? Model #?

They're Samsung HD500... something. The problem is that they're doing some of work right now (consolidating my stuff from the Mac mini I sold), and I'm a bit hesitant to yank them to check. I'll do it in a couple hours and get back to you -- I just wanted you to know that I saw your post and will reply.

...Fairly unwilling to ship out of country, but might if the price is right and you have some patience with a typical American who has very little experience with such things.
Here are the steps required to ship a box out of the US
(1) Pack the item in a box
(2) Write the address in the box. Be sure to write the name of the country you are shipping to as the last line of the address.
(3) Take the box to the post office. The postman will offer you a choise of shipping methods and prices. Pick one and hand over the cash.
That's it. The only difference between domestic shipping and shipping overseas is that it might take longer and cost more.

Also - you need to fill out a customs form, and you can't get tracking with USPS unless you do INternational Priority (I think) or Express Mail. That's ********* me over before, and cost me a few hundred in PayPal disputes.
But not everyone has my luck!

Thanks, but I know all that and have done it before.
What I'm referring to more are customs regulations, including export restrictions on computing equipment, whether certain machines are compatible or can be made compatible with different electrical systems in other countries, DVD zone issues if someone out of the country purchased the Mac mini and wanted to watch their DVDs on it, and the possibility that I might get ripped off for shipping to an address that Paypal will not consider confirmed. I am a strict devotee of Murphy and his various laws and corollaries, and assume that any complication is an added opportunity for God to make me his/her bitch.
It's not the big picture but the details, and details rarely work in my favor.

I should mention that I will accept a .Mac Family Pack as a partial trade for any of these items, or an even trade for one of the hard drives. I know they're going for about $80-90 on eBay, sometimes less, but I'll give $100 credit. I'll have to have the serial number at the same time payment is made, though. I don't care about the box -- just need the number.

Drobo sold, I think -- pending final agreement and payment.
I might change my mind, but for the time being (at least the next couple of days, while I shift my information around), the hard drives are not for sale unless I get a good offer.

I haven't yet received payment or a firm confirmation on the Drobo, so I'm considering it still open.
After a rather frustrating search around town for external hard drive enclosures, I'm conceding defeat. I no longer care about the information on the Drobo and have no way to get it off in the next few days even if I did, so the hard drives are for sale with the Drobo.
I'm offering the Drobo for $370 shipped, which is around 80% of the price of a new Drobo with a $50 discount with taxes, moderate shipping, et cetera. I'm offering the drives for $65 apiece or $260 total, if you buy them with the Drobo. That's a total of $630 shipped. I'm not interested in selling the hard drives individually, although I would sell them separately from the Drobo for $280 shipped.

Nope, it's an "iceBook."
I'm losing patience with the Drobo thing. $600 shipped and it's all yours -- Drobo and four 500GB hard drives.

I might be interested in your ibook till I find myself a Powerbook. How much you want shipped to 91710? I know how you feel, I moved to socal from Ohio and was rough finding a job out here too. Good luck!
Also how old is the HDD and what speed?

Um, $250? If that sounds fair to you. I put about $350 + shipping into it just a couple months ago.
Yeah, WTF? I used to maintain and operate a nuclear power plant. You'd think I could get a job as a damned kennel attendant :p

It's no longer for sale, but it gives you a better idea of the specs. (Note: model number taken from System Profiler) It appears to be 5400RPM with an 8MB cache. Newegg says it's a silent drive -- and it is.
My guess would be that I got it a year ago. It has a one-year manufacturer's warranty, so if you're concerned about that we're probably both out of luck :)

Ok that sounds like a good price. I bought my first ibook(same as yours but stock) on this site at the beginning of the year for $180 so with the upgrades that's fair. I also have an extra DVD/CD-RW drive I can slam into this sucker :D'. I'll let you know in a few days!

Awesome seller. :) Really fast on shipping and an all around nice guy. Did great on packaging too!
If someone other than SVT buys the iBook, I also have a DVD-CDRW I'm willing to let go for cheap. (I'm tired of lookin' at it and I need money for a camera for Otakon!)

I have to totally agree. Drobo is awesome! No complaints at all from me. If I hadn't just dropped $$ on a drobo and 1tb drives, I would have snatched this up!

And again, I open my mouth only to stick my foot in it. Drobo back on the market.
Note that (apparently I deleted the relevant information in the first post) the Drobo comes with the box, manual, Little Black Shroud of Doom, power cord, and USB cord, driver disk, etc. In other words, everything it originally came with. Plus four hard drives, if you're into that sort of thing.
