Watch someone whip through Super Mario Brothers 3 extremely fast:

http://content.collegehumor.com/media/movies/mosmb3.wmv

He finishes the game with over 99 extra lives, and has a freakishly high score, too...   :D

holy crap!

That game is pretty easy, but its insane how fast he whips through those levels. And with that speed, Im amazed how he manages to land every time on a safe area.

WOW!

You gotta be frikkin kidding me. That was amazing. I'd never seen those whistles or warp zones before. Maybe thats because I didnt play SMB3 very much...

Also interesting to note that the whistles made the same chime that was in the original Legend of Zelda. (tornado included)

wow, it was a perfect game, i wonder how many tries it took him to do that. he had to memorize everything in each level pretty much.

that was crazy

Ya exactly...

It's still amazing to watch though.. so fast.. so perfect with every move.

I thought he was going to die so many times since he got so close to the enemies.. all I can say is WOW.

I love JEJ, but I'm lost, where's the quote, and is the question which movie?

The quote is "Tahiti is not in Europe!" (it's in my signature at the bottom of my posts), and the question is, indeed, which movie does it come from?

It's one of my all time favorite movies, and a lot of people don't even know it exists. I highly reccommend it!

Some people have too much time on their hands...

...and others have "Too Many Secrets." ;)

Amazing.

He has every jump down perfectly so that he lands on ever enemies' head just to propel him to the next. Phenomenal.

Absolutely amazing. Even if he recorded his best effort at each level separately and spliced them together, it would still be amazing. And from the point score it looks like it really was a one-shot deal. Did I mention amazing?

He must have spent months or years practicing. Given all the time it must have taken him, my 11:02 doesn't seem like a waste.

I once watched a kid from down the block beat Super Mario Brothers from start to finish. All eight levels. It was nothing like this movie, but at the time it was quite a surprise to see that someone could master it. I had only gotten to level 5 by then.

I just watched the video! Impressive, but I have to wonder if it was somehow slowed down while he played. The bullet worlds were amazing. He would land on the bullets as the left the gun.

the bullet worlds would slow down sometimes... when you play it enough, one memorizes all the tricks et al....

That was the first game I ever bought that was close to today's price range, all the Atari games were like $5.

i love that scene of a certain movie which i have in my dvd collection.

personally i think that ben kingsley was better on the whole in the movie (cos of his cool-ass accent), but JEJ had the best line - that one.

Yeah, with hand-eye coordination that good, you've gotta wonder what he does with Metroid, Castlevania, or Contra...

All this is assuming it's a guy, but it could just as easily be a girl, right?

Holy crap, that guy is on another plane of digital existance. i thought that I had quick reflexes, but DAMN. I will continue to lie to myself, and contend that I could do it in 11:01 with enough years devoted entirely to SMB3.

That's going on my list of stuff to do once retired, right before "build a waterslide with a ramp at the end" and right after "stay drunk for 3 months straight."
