"I got told, from a very reliable source direct from Apple, that Steve Balmer (head of Microsoft) is considered to be the next successor to Steve Jobs. What it means, it is that Apple and Microsoft will merge together. The biggest thing ever happened in history of IT."
I cannot remember where I copied that from, but it sounds pretty crap. If it is true, it means the end of of Apple.
What do you guy's think ? You never know now a days, with conspiracy and all :)

Quite. Apple is set to make inroads into Microsoft. It's taken the hardware route, and is profiting from it well (it makes a tiny percentage from OS sales in comparison).

The purest drivel..
Scott Forestall is the successor to Steve Jobs...
Of course, he won't take the helm for another 5+ years, but it's comforting to know Apple has a genuinely talented successor who was raised, taught and tuned by Jobs to be capable of taking Apple forward.
Gates on the other hand has jumped overboard with the money before the passengers (customers and shareholders) realise the Microsoft ship is sinking...Apart from crappy Vista, that's single handedly the biggest reason you know Microsoft is finished because Gates is getting his money out...Balmer will go down at the helm...

Scott Forestall ! I dislike him so much. He has such a whiny voice and I really don't like the way he speaks. Besides that, I do admit that I do not know much about him.
The guy that is head of Mac OS X (Bertrand something), I like him. I really don't know if he would fit to be the CEO, but I like him :) He is fun.
Otherwise, I hope Steve Jobs never die :) When he does, the next CEO can only be WIN or FAIL. It is not only running a company, but it is also winning people hearts with there own personality.

Yeah, definitely not something that would be of interest to either company: their mission statements and the was they conduct business are too different.

Oh, it was on the Internets; then it must be true. I retract my earlier comment.

Actually there are certain factors that point to this actually happening:
1. They are both called Steve
2. um....

Well thats not very kind :( especially when this kind of thread is posted in a rumors forum. What's wrong ? I am not saying it is true but that is what I came across on the internet.
It does sound ridiculous, but who knows. Also it is still great to create a good discussion around a stupid rumor.

Perhaps not impossible, but difficult.
Good luck… ;)
But as stupid rumours go, you really have struck gold. (Or is that dirt?)
