Um..dude, I know the effect could be added afterward, but that sure looks like an authentic itunes visualizer.

I actually see this a lot on campus ... people reading their text books with their laptop on, and them listening to music with headphones connected to the laptop

this looks so staged... well, obviously it is...
but the visualizer does not look authentic... that was stuck in there to give the impression that the whole thing is real...
the ibook is also too heavy for a dog to carry like that, and judging by the 'clunk' when it hit the ground, it sounds hollow.

Whether the visualizer was authentic or not can only be answered by one person and that's the creator. It's quite possible there were two ibooks, one a working model and the stunt double that was thirsty a broken down shell of an ibook.
