.asf conversion (please help)

K here's my problem I have .asf file (wmp format) and I would like to get a final conversion to a .mpg file so I can make a vcd of it. Doesn’t really matter to me how many conversions I have to do but I'd like to be able to do this. I have a copy of Cleaner5.1.1 but I can't get that to recognize .asf files even though it should. So is there a codec I need or something. Oh yeah it’s EP2 :D so the reason for this is so that I can watch it on a TV, which seems to give the movie much better quality then on a computer. Other wise I'll just see it in digital @ our local theater (supposedly much better then the film version)
BTW- Jar Jar is in it but thankfully has a much smaller part. :)

sorry i can't help a lot, this is more of duke's field than mine (i just try to work here :))

but... i don't think it's possible on a mac, if it is possible at all you'll need a microsoft product since asf is their format.... i'm not even sure what to use though

perhaps the codec is part of windows so if you imported it into say premiere on a pc it might be posslbe

I've not really had much luck with the wmp files and conversion, the codecs don't handle it. I've got Cleaner 5 as well, and I am continually frustrated by its lack in that regard. Maybe in future releases there will be more conversion options, but that doesn't help things now.

But this also isn't my speciality, so there might be an app out there that will do it. You might want to try a search.

I could help you as I've familiar with this type of conversion but since its a bootleg I won't, especially not on this w*rez & illegaly-distributed-file-discussion-free board. go and spend the damn 10 bucks

K Choppaface I saw it today in digital but id like to still be able to watch it @ home on a tv so don't get all anti-steeling on me. Mac15- i have to bother with WMP cuz thats the only format it comes in. thx for the responses maybe ill get some helpful ones JK :)
