Invisible Files HELP!

I have a FP iMac running Panther and for some unknown reason all the invisible files have become visible. I am quite confused and would like them to go back to being invisible, but I do not know how. If someone can help me out and make this files invisible once again I will be quite grateful.

Some examples of the files are ".DS_Store" on the desktop and ".hidden" and ".vol" in the Hard Drive/Computer window.

Did you recently install TinkerTool?

Download onyX, cocktail, or some other similar tool and disable "Show Hidden Files"

I do have tinkertool...but i did not install it recently
