i've got an old PC which i'm looking to sell, but I don't know if it's still worth anything, so i figured you guys might know.

AMD Athlon XP 1800+
256mb RAM
nVidia Geforce3 Ti 200
Maxtor 6l04032 (40gb)
Wireless logitech keyboard & mouse
dvd-rom station
cd-burner

Monitor: Eizo T68

Windows XP service pack 1

is it even worth anything?

That thing is ancient in terms of pcs now...not worth trying to sell(if you could).

I would donate it to a church/school/counsel for blind/disabled. Then you could deduct it off the taxes. Which would be much easier.

I would probably give you maybe a 100 bux for it if it had a monitor and worked.

Yea, just donate it. It's considered an antique almost in PC terms. If you donate it, you get tax deductions, so thats worth it.

No more than $50-$100... Too low to run any basic programs nowadays.

You could build yourself a NAS and add some HD later if you need more space. Take a look at FreeNAS (http://www.freenas.org).

If you are not attracted by those kind of things just donate it.

Yes, definitely donate it. What seems like a piece of outdated trash to you can easily make the life of someone less fortunate a whole lot easier.

Agree with all of the previous posts; donate to a charity/church/school. You won't get much anyway for it, and donating it could well help better somebody else's life. I've donated some of my old computers, and you can claim tax back in some countries. Good luck with it.

I second the freenas idea. I have an old computer very similar to the one you describe and it works great.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5B108 Safari/525.20)

I had a similar dilemma. Ended up with a great backup solution with FreeNAS. The newer release supports iTunes server functionality.
