OK, so what happened besides my toe getting a bruise, the Touch bounced to the left, then under the guard rail of the stairs, yet only down 4 out the possible 13 steps.

Picked it up. Still ticking! Helps that the stairs were carpeted. Goes to show that a Touch is well built. A little hard on toes, but well built. :)

I've thrown mine plenty of times, on hardwood flooring. And it still works perfectly fine

The combination of 4 and 13 in that sentence makes me think you're iPod Touch will be dead in a few days!:)

I've already had one Touch die on me. White screen of death. Fortunately Apple replaced it for free.
