Hello Everyone!

First of all, I am really sorry for the childish title. I am also sorry for my childish behavior.

As a very angry adult, I just smashed my ipod touch into pieces and I am very happy now. Months of agony and pain stopped immediately. Constant crashes and months of lost time are over. This device brought me so much trouble and little joy in my life.

I could not stand it anymore. I have been using apple products since 1999. Apple usually have and had great products, the concepts, the user friendly UI’s, but the actual hardware sometime just sucks and it even sucks more these days. I can't figure out what is happening to this once great company. There are a lot unhappy customers. This shouldn't be the way for apple.

I have probably spent a lot of money on apple products. I have been lying to myself how wonderful Ipod touch and all other apple products are, but now I am free of lying to myself.

Steve has become greedier than Bill. Ipod touch, iphone 3g and applications are the reflection of that greediness.

I will be free of apple products soon. I know i will be happier!

You should have sold it. You pissed a good whack of cash down the drain.

Hmmm, interesting..........you know, I felt almost like this back in '06 when someone at school stole my iPod nano 1G. Without the nano in my hands, I remember realizing how angry I was that I spent $200 on a measly 2 gigs, how frustrated I was that I could only use iTunes, how jealous I was of my other friends who didn't get nanos but instead got cooler alternatives (Phillips, etc.) with more features, and suddenly, I felt happy that my nano got stolen. A month later my uncle bought me a $200 Creative Zen 20GB that did music, photos, radio, mic, easy multiple playlists, cool randomizers, and I just felt so happy to have been able to stick it to Apple.

I stayed for a year and a half with the same device. Christmas '08 comes around, and I am craving the carresses of an iPod touch. I buy, relegate my Zen to an external hard drive, AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK SINCE. I LOVE my iPod touch (1.1.4 jailbroken), and I would be heartbroken if some worse fate were to befall it.

So. Sorry?

Selling it wouldn't satisfy my frustration, however breaking did satify my frustration.

Thanks for the advice though.

You state you're an adult, yet breaking it on purpose is such a 'kid' thing to do. I don't know, I know it's your money, but still, you just wasted money, and even if you have all the money in the world, its still stupid to break something that was hundreds of dollars....and you couldve gave to someone who'd been happy with the device

Anyway good luck, you shouldnt get to worked up about Apple products, there's lots of other important things going on in the world these days...

Enjoy your Zune, or Archos, those are cool....kinda...

It would have pair for a psychologist.

How about some pics of your broken touch? It'd be fun to see how busted up it is from your rage.

I've heard that treadmills work well for this purpose.

You realize you've said NOTHING specific about what it is you're angry about right?

Thanks for the advice!

Which is more than you deserve, considering that you didn't ask for any.

Newsflash: iPods and the iPhones are now really small computers, and computers are not perfect, and crash from time to time...

You should have given it to someone who couldn't normally afford one...

I'm running 2.02 on my Touch and it runs absolutely beautifully. Perhaps a tiny bit less responsive than 1.1.4, and that will be worked out soon, but no typing lag, no applications crashing, no restarts, no freezing.

To me the iPod Touch defines Apple. It is honestly the pinnacle of human achievement, even more so than the iPhone.

That story reminded me of the time I was running out the door to meet some friends and decided to add one song to my 64MB Sony NW-E3 (hey, the year was 2001 - I didn't 'discover' iPods until 2003!) ... Unfortunately, I had to convert my MP3 to ATRAC3, and even more unfortunate was the fact that Sony's software wouldn't recognize the file (probably bad ID3 tags, but I had no idea at the time) ... I ended up spending almost two hours trying to get that stupid song to transfer, but it never did work. So, I decided to teach my NW-E3 a lesson. I extinguished my cigarette on it (yeah yeah, I used to smoke) and then ran it under the faucet in my kitchen for a few minutes. As I was still not entirely convinced that the little bastard had learned its lesson, I took a hammer to it, collect its remains, and deposited them in the large ashtray next to the elevator in my building. I then proceeded to smoke another ciggy and smash the butt into the shattered LCD ...

Wow. I haven't thought about that night in years. Hope my wife doesn't read this ... ;)

One thing about this ****** ipod touch is: it burned in flames. That was cool scene. It made me the happiest person alive.

I have 3 taser guns and many bear spray and pepper sprays that I carry around me. I also own some sniper rifles, too. Did not harm anybody yet. Only technological products aggravates me like this. I am pretty cool with fellow human beings and animals. I will only defend myself if somebody tries to harm me and my family.

They are different! Their crashing and freezing is probably your own fault.

You are right. I should have given it to somebody who would enjoy the product. I should have been more responsible.
