I'm not surprised. Mac users can be very selfish.

sometimes it is just luck. Depends on who is watching the forum at the time. The gurus can't be everywhere.
Or it could be a question that has been asked over and over. Try a search.

They can't hide, we know when they've read them!
superhamster, people on here are on here for fun, unpaid, in their own time. It may be that they just don't know the answer to your questions.
Having said that, I've just looked over some of your old threads, and the fact that you continually bump your own threads and start insulting people for not answering them (as well as insulting people in this thread) would put me off helping you out.

-superhamster:confused: Okay...
I'm relatively new here, though I lurked for a long time, but I don't see selfishness at all.
If I see a post where I can help, I do, and I see a LOT of people posting with a LOT of help on these forums and others. It may be that you're posting at times when the people who could and would help you aren't online.
Maybe you'd have better luck on another board?

Mr Hamster, you're last thread without an answer has only been up for about an hour. What do you expect? The entire world to drop everything to help you with a trivial and unimportant issue.
Get over yourself.

Wasteland; what is that? This is crazy!
The Wasteland (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41) is where "trash posts" go to die.
They can't hide, we know when they've read them!
Did it ever cross your mind that people might look at your posts, and not knowing the answer to your questions have nothing to post?

First, I implore you to search the forums for the number of posts from users new and old that have gone unanswered. Some threads may have replies but the issue did not get resolved.
Second, I urge you to look up the words "generalization", "stereotype" and "entitled" because within 30 minutes you basically nailed each of them. I want to be sure you're aware of yourself.
Third, you need to get a grip. If this thread is indicative of any other thread you have started where you have asked for help, then I cannot see why anyone would feel compelled to help you in the least.
Stop insulting people and grow up. If you do not find your answers here chances are you can find them online somewhere. Sorry the members here did not spoon feed you exactly what you felt you were entitled to.
Your next complaint will undoubtedly be about how your whiny thread received more attention than the threads where you asked for help. My answer to that is so what.

I'm afraid you chose to attack the entire forums. It's now up to us when we stop replying to this thread, or the moderators to lock or remove it. Maybe if enough people post in here you will realise how spoilt and bratty you sounded.

Probably a moderator deleted his bump and your response to it. I'm sure if you PM a moderator they can tell you what happened to your post.

Every single thread you started (http://forums.macrumors.com/search.php?searchid=12377156) now has a reply.
If you want to know what the defect is with the lack of responses it is because you make multiple threads about pointless things such as the Apple store being down and as Lau said, you bump your own threads.
You know what has to stop? Double & triple posting when a website has a hiccup that lasts all of 2-3 minutes.
Now you stop.

Everyone from time to time hates the fact no one replies especially when their thread has 190+ views:mad: (I'm pretty sure at least one person would of known the answer), Anyway who cares this is a forum for fun and to discuss rumours no one is obligated to answer someone asking for help.
I reckon this thread should go wasteland.

Why is this in the iPod discussion forum? It should be in the Site and Forum Feedback forum if anything, but at the rate of where it is going, it might as well be placed in the Wasteland. There is nothing that can really be done about it, Mac people aren't selfish, you are just trying to create an absurd stereotype. Why would somebody join the forum to help, with the intention of reading your thread that needs help just to not respond when they clearly can. What do you want us to do, have every person that reads the thread post a reply even if they know that they have no idea of what the answer to your question is.
Some tips for getting more people to read and respond to your thread and to get an answer to your question (assuming that somebody that reads it even knows the answer):
1. Run a search using the forum's built in search function, by using MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/), or by running a Google search through the site.
2. Once you have not found anything through searching, find the correct forum for your thread that is relevant to the topic of your question.
3. Create a new thread in that forum, remembering to use an informative thread title, not anything like "Help Please!". Use a title that is short, yet tells what the problem is so somebody can know from the start if they have any chance as to the answer to your question.
4. Write the original post to your thread, and keep it broken up into paragraphs if it is long, try not have any particular paragraph more than 6 lines long.
5. In the writing of your thread, use proper grammar, capitalization, and spelling. DO NOT write your thread like you are typing a text message.
6. Be kind and most certainly not rude. Just by sounding rude and impolite like you are in this thread, you are not likely going to get responses that will be helpful, if at all.
Just think of these in the future.
