Now that I finally have some time, I would like to try Panther on my G3 Lombard (333mhz). I already have it working on my Cube.

My question is, would OS X work with this computer? I know that it's officially supported but is it powerful enough for practical use? OS 9 works smoothly for me so I want to make sure it works before I upgrade.

Is 192MB of RAM enough? I hear that more RAM is better for OS X but I'm not sure just how much is enough.

Tough one....

Generally speaking 256 is minimal, with 512 being good. But, yeah it works with 192 MB.
Just make a backup of the disk as it is now, 'cause maybe you want to return the that setup...
So try it, and see for yourself it is good, OK, reasonable, poor or pathetic... ;)

Opinions differ, depending on what you can compare it with, and what you expect.

I have Panther on my 400 MHz Lombard with 192 megs of RAM. It runs, but it's pretty slow.
