As a designer constantly having to pick the right moment to change this bit of hardware or that, I 'used' to find macrumors invaluable.

However, recently the site seems to have given itself over to ipods and itunes. I can't remember the last time there was more mac stuff on page one than music stuff.

"So what?" I hear you cry. Well, the name at the top says 'macrumors', not 'ipodrumors' or indeed 'itunes rumors'. While all this music stuff has a place on the web, I don't think it should be here, on the first page of macrumors. If the site were branded applerumors I would not take this stand. The site should aim to do more of what the title would suggest. Can we at least consider opening a new tab like page2 to cover all this music stuff and leave the opening page to concentrate on macs?:confused:

Mac = Apple http://upload.edesignuk.net/uploaded_data/smilies/tard.gif

AppleRumors, MacRumors, it's all the same.

MacRumors deals in everything Apple. I don't see your problem. http://upload.edesignuk.net/uploaded_data/smilies/wtf.gif

Exactly - and right now iPods and ITMS are pretty damn big news.

If there are decent Mac Computer rumors, they'll be posted - and if you go and look in some of the forums, you'll not have a problem finding discussion on hardware.

I'm not sure I understand the problem with the itunes/ipod news and rumors?

It's not like Mac news is ignored in the interest of iPod/iTunes news.

In other words, the only result of not reporting on ipod/itunes news as you suggest would simply be fewer site updates.

If this is what you want, you can focus on your specific mac interests alone:

http://powermac.macrumors.com/
http://powerbook.macrumors.com

etc...

What's with mammals.org? Are we going to get genetically engineered iHamsters with smooth white skins and a 6 hour battery life?

Probably a perfectly good reason, but a bit bizzare:)
