A quick HD partition question

I am about to install Panther onto my mac, I want to partition my HD into two segments, one HD and one for video.

Is it best to partition before installing panther? If so when i select for panther to go onto one segment does that leave the other segment without an OS?

Or if possible do I partition after panther installation?

you must partition before installation. partitioning the drive will basically reformat the whole thing, wiping it clean...

when you partition and install panther, it will boot and you will see the other partition mounted on the desktop. it will be just another HD...
