I don't know what happened to the marketplace thread, but i figured i'd give it a try in here. but i'm looking to get rid of my black macbook Core Duo 2.0GHz with 1GB ram and an 80GB hard drive. It is in very good condition and i have all the original packaging.

If you're interested or want pictures, email me at nick.cavalea@gmail.com

You don't see the marketplace because you aren't authorized to use it. Macrumors has stupid rules.

Macrumors has stupid rules.

The rules are for the benefit of the community

The administration listened to feedback and gave careful consideration before making the changes

Those stupid rules protect you and other members. A new member could receive money for something and never ship it. Also a more established member may try and take advantage of someone new to the forums.

I have never had any issues with the market place and don't know anyone who did. I could figure though that Arn and the other mods just would not want to deal with possible shady business.

It sucks, but I like the idea to be honest.

Macrumors just missed out on two seemingly trustworthy sellers due to the rules. On the other hand, say I wanted to sell a Macbook Pro that I don't have. How hard would that be? Spam the boards for a few days and hit 250 posts... wait a few months... bam... $2000 in my pocket. The rules punish honest people and do nothing to prevent dedicated scammers.

Exactly,...

You could check my 190 - 100% positive feedback on eBay and of course I would only sell it through PayPal but now MR's members lose.
