wooah! i cant believe it!!!
I lieave in Texas, actually in Hidalgo Texas to be more precise... I ordered a new MBP and suddenly the shipment was canceled!!!

I asked an Apple operator why was my order in that status.. and she said that they wouldnt send it because then we where gonna deliever it somewhere in Mexico!!!! come on!!! i mean...
Is my foult for living just aside of the border!??? and she said that if I wanted one I should buy it from the Mexican Apple Site... where 1999 dlrs I would pay 3000!!! come on!!! aahh!! that got me very angry!!!

I WONT CROSS IT TO MEXICO!!!! I JUST WANT MY NEW MBP!!!!!! AND YES I LIVE NEAR MEXICO SOO!!!!???? AM STILL PART OF US!!!!!!!!!!!! HATE YAAA APPLE

To the OP. It was really hard to read the post. It sounds like you live in Texas, but just right across the border. Which would be Mexico.

If Apple directly does not want your money, then just get it somewhere else.

Well, doing some basic research, you could technically drive to San Antonio (and on today's gas prices, too and from depending on car could cost you less than $100), and not pay the Mexican Apple Store for a Macbook Pro, which still doesn't make sense since you're in the United States. :S

But it will cost you four hours of time. You might be able to find it at a Best Buy or something in one or two weeks. But its better to get it from Apple than them.

Why not just ask for a manager. Keep going up the chain. I would also ask for free overnight shipping.

Right now I own 2 macbooks, one white and one black, but I bought them in BB never from Apple Store.

I already asked on BB but some stores didnt even know that new MB where released.
The closest Apple Store is in San Antonio.

Do you think that if I call again, and talk about it would they restore my package, any way, I am in U.S. they cant base all in a "we are supposing" thought. Am I right?

Just explain calmly. Tell he/she you are really enthusiastic to purchase the notebook and want to find a way to work this out.

If you if the impression that you have a problem that you would like to solve nicely, more will get done.

Being nice and patient will get you much further than being irate. Imagine the person taking your call. They get yelled at and berated all day. Be nice and they'll return the favor.

I'm going to regret posting in this thread, but...

- Does the billing address of the credit card you used match the shipping address for the order, and are they both in Hidalgo?

- Does the name of the person placing the order match the name of the person on the credit card, and if not, what is the recipient's relationship to the credit card holder?

- Did you verify with Apple on the phone that they were shipping it to Texas?

This is absurd... I think there's something you're neglecting to mention. Detroit is that close to Canada, and I have never heard of anyone refusing to ship something to Detroit because they believed it would be snuck into Canada.

Texas, the only state which was formerly a republic, and which retains in its constitution the right to divide into 5 states, or to secede from the US. If Texas did take that approach (secession,) it would immediately be invited to join OPEC, where it would become one of the top OPEC oil producers, be able to export oil to the US, and probably be the US's largest trading partner. Not to mention a it's home to several major defense contract manufacturers, numerous military bases, several ports, an absurd amount of natural gas reserves, and the number 1 college football team (at least at the moment ;) ,) major financial institutions, the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders :D , and lot's of cheap labor from neighboring Mexico. All of which would probably be to Texas's advantage to just go it alone. So, maybe considering it a foreign place isn't too far off into the future for many Americans.

On the subject of the original poster's problem - ignore all the comedians here who love laughing at someone they think is more unfortunate than themselves. Just call Apple, talk to someone, be calm, and straighten it out. It shouldn't be too difficult, as long as you are in fact in the US, and have the authority to charge the purchase. Good luck.

Yeah... um... Right. Can they govern themselves? Just look at their former governor. Not to mention the fact that you cannot consider someone patriotic if they reserve the right to secede. If that former piece of Mexico (which was won by Americans from several states) ever decided to secede, I am fully confident that the military of the United States can conquer the area for a second time without issue.

Defense contractors would need money to operate. If they offered to sell their "goods" to other nations, that would be a huge national defense threat. Thus, the United States - 1 would attack. If other "major financial institutions" wanted to do business with the United States a relocation would be needed. If not; tough, you left.

Seeing as I am latte sipping and tax raising liberal, I am sure that my thoughts on this matter will be ignored. Of course when we establish health care as a national right that all Americans have, we'll let you in on the deal too.

As for the comedian comments, that is unfair. There are plenty of people here who did offer honest advice. Please note mine. Is it too bad if we expect proper english? This isn't an IM, expect a you instead of u. If someone is asking for help, the ability to ask correctly is important. Baring the lack of knowledge or inability to do so, it is needed. If not; it makes you look at best - uncaring about how people perceive you. At worst - ignorant.

Well, I agree on the former governor - I didn't say Texans were smart. :) Of course, he's really not a true Texan. But, seeing how well the US has done defeating a bunch of ragtag Iraqi insurgents, it might be little tougher with a bunch of gun-toting Texans who look just like everyone else. Not to mention it would bring down the economy, maybe the whole society to have another civil war, rather than simply negotiate with a 'new' neighbor closer in culture to us than any other, except perhaps Canada. It certainly would present a dilemma to the US government. Maybe air strikes on Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and El Paso might just intimidate the Texans out of their potentially rebellious ways. ;) I'm thinking there might just be some 'issues.'

I'm sure they'd be happy to continue selling their weapons to the US. As for money, there's plenty in Texas. Lots of oil, gas, industry, etc. Why would the US choose not to do business with Texas, when by doing that they would force the Texas Republic to do business other places? It wouldn't be in anyone's interests to do what the Russians did to Georgia, now would it?

Well, let's face it, Canadians have different values than many Americans. They consider health care part of the basis of a civilized society.

Of course, the American Declaration of Independence did espouse the values of the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as inherently cause enough to justify independent government. One can infer that health care, while not a constitutional right, is certainly required to be able to pursue happiness. I haven't seen a lot of happy sick folks who can't afford insurance or the cost of a hospital visit. If we sit by and allow most (90%) of our wealth to become concentrated in the hands of .03% of our population who can afford whatever they want, plus many times more, thus depriving an ever increasing number of ordinary citizens the ability to afford health care, you begin to re-create an argument for revolution, as our forefathers did:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness...

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

If you also want to included the Declaration:
Right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness...

Oh and health care is one of our largest industries. Just imagine all the jobs that will be created.

I also know where the rest of the world stands does little to sway some of my fellow countrymen, but I think this graphic does a good job of at least illustrating the point as to where we stand on this issue:

Not all Americans fell as such. I personally think it is a tragedy that we do not ensure health care for all Americans. There are plenty of people who feel like me and we're working quite hard to change our healthcare system.

Thats not necessarily true. The British free healthcare system that is funded by taxes runs at a much cheaper price than our current healthcare system. There are free health clinics, charity hospitals, and other for people without healthcare. Parents who are irresponsible and don't work or make below a certain level are entitled to medicaid for their kids.

Considering our healthcare system is the most expensive and the economy is in the dump, it would be irresponsible at this point to try to incur the cost of a universal healthcare insurance. The upfront cost would be phenomenal and if anyone believes this will be done in the first four years of any political administration, you need a reality check.

I spent 8 years in a university and graduate program and am still in school and working on a LLM. I don't see why I should have to pay additional taxes to provide healthcare services for "Joe the crackhead" or "Betty the babby popping welfare mother."

I just sat through a week long symposium on this very issue and there are a lot of different opinions on this issue in this country.

Everyone has an opinion. If you consider how inefficient government is to begin with you will realize how inefficient and costly a government run health care plan would be.

While emergency healthcare might some day be classified a fundamental right, insurance shouldn't be. There is nothing in the constitution that guaranteed either.

The main problem in this country now is THERE IS NO BIPARTISAN POLICY COMING OUT OF DC. If the parties would work together instead of being bull headed and trying to push their own agenda.

This topic is like a candidate saying they are going to make a constitutional ammendment. You will never get the votes to do this in the type of government and type of society in which we live. Our populations is so diverse, with different political and religious views. We in a sense are going to continue to agree to disagree.

I don't hate poor people. The American dream IS NOT A RIGHT. You have a right to peruse the dream(GET A JOB, MAKE MONEY, GET AN EDUCATION, GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT).

Here is what I think needs to happen. Make it so you can shop across state borders for health care. This will dramatically reduce prices because of competition. Some states are more lenient then others? Then fix it. If its too expensive, why can't churches or groups set up a health care charity for those who can't afford full fledged health care?
