Ok, minor problem (well, pretty major).

In OSX, say for example you have a folder on your desktop called "fullofstuff", then you insert a data cd which also has a folder called "fullofstuff" on it. When you drag the folder of the same name to the desktop, it doesn't merge the existing folder with the contents of the one from the cd, it overwrites it (bloody stupid and equally annoying feature of OSX if you ask me).

Is there any way to get the contents of "fullofstuff" back??

help ASAP would be appreciated!

usually, when it replaces something, it asks first, then it puts it in the trash. as long as you haven't emptied the trash, it might still be there.

if not, i have no clue.

i think norton utilities may have something for this. if only there was junkyard

you can also try this, http://www.prosoftengineering.com/products/data_recycler.php or http://www.prosoftengineering.com/products/data_rescue.php

although i've never heard of either, there is a demo up for download. try that.
