btw, to be honest.. the glossy is pretty dang glossy and i think its more glossy than the previous mbp (comparing to my friend's mbp)
of course the brighter LED backlight helps but nonetheless, its still glossy as hell
if u look at the pic, u can see my tackboard on the gbp!!

the glossy isnt as bad as i described when brightness is up

The point I was trying to make is that any glossy screen is going to show major reflections with the screen off. A better comparison would be to turn both screens on and then compare the glossiness.

I think your solution just made the Macbook Pro look extremely glossy.
