I'd like to get GarageBand but only if I can use my keyboard as a midi controller.

Its a Yamaha PSR-740 and it has midi outputs on the back.

Also if its possible can somebody tell me what i need to do this?

So you're saying that the keyboard won't work as a MIDI controller?

By the way, caps2midi seems pretty interesting

Just get a MIDI interface. MOTU makes them, M-Audio makes them. I have had a couple MOTU fastlanes, and they work fine, as do the MIDIMan ones (which I have also owned). A simple 1 in 1 out will do you fine.
