Applecare outside the usa?

I was wondering if I can get a good deal on a G5 if I buy it directly from the USA and not in germany.

I wanted to buy it online and let it send to a friends home in florida. From there I wanted it mailed to me. The problem I have is the service of the G5, is it possible to get apple care with the g5 and get the sevice here in germany, in case I would need it?

Does anyone know how much the import tax on a G5 from usa to germany is?

With regards to Applecare, Apple's obligation to repair/replace covered equipment is restricted to the country where the equipment was purchased.

In short, AppleCare will only operate in the country where the equipment was purchased.

The only exception is AppleCare for portable equipment, (which Apple defines as any item that can operate independently without a powercord) which enjoys a Global repair/replace service.
