I've got one of the first generation iMacs with the "floating" screen and the 800mhz processor. I've recently moved it into an office where they only have the 802.11b wireless internet. If I chuck out $80 for a wireless card, is it going to work? I've looked all over the internet and there's no "list" if Wireless-ready or Extreme Wireless-ready macs.
Thanks in advance,

It is, at the very least, Airport ready, if not Airport Extreme ready. Check out www.everymac.com.
Edit:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac_800_fp.html
Shows that it is Airport ready, but cannot take an Airport Extreme card.

Yep. it'll work.
As robbieduncan pointed out, no Extreme, but that is in your case not necessary anyway.
802.11b is "normal" Airport (11 Mbps).
Edit: Check this (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75317) article out for installation.

put in an airport card (50-70 bucks from apple) and you are good to go. that is what powers my imac.
