ok, my friend works in cupertino. thats one of his many jobs. always gave me updates on what comes out when and has been 100% accurate since 2004.
just texted me. you will not like the cosmetic changes made to the iMac. i said i thought it was processor speed, more RAM, LED screen, bigger HD and graphics? he said no, just wait.
that's all he gave me. :rips hair out and ordered my last purchase of 08, new 24inch iMac, 3.06Ghz, 4GB, 1 TB HD. crosses fingers.
he's never wrong in almost 5 years... what is going on at Apple? when you have a good product, why change it just to be the first one? feedback on the new nanos are horrible for watching videos. trackpad on new macbook is just wrong. what could be the cosmetic change in the iMac?
sorry, just had to post this.

He texted me too. He said Steve Jobs is going to wear dungarees and a top hat at MacWorld.

Even bigger bezel with more two-tone going on, and even more glass and gloss?
Yeah, that sounds like something I wouldn't like either.
Edit: And a bigger "jaw" to "facilitate" forward facing speakers (i.e. giving it a "holed" expression) …

This qualifies as a "rumor"??
He gave you no further details? If it were my friend I wouldn't let him tantalize me via text message like that  HAHAHA make him talk!!!

He texted me back again and said if you buy every Apple product currently on sale, you can connect them together to make a robot.

Whatever it will be, I will be waiting in line to buy. Doesn't matter if there is more glass or gloss, I'm perfectly fine with glossy displays and glass. I can't stand those PC users fooling themselves into thinking their plastic is metal (it's plastic with a thin metal finish to be fair) and glass.

I think we have the same friend. He told me Apple's going retro for 2009. This is a snap he took of the new high end iMac.
That's actually a 30" LED screen.

OP you should've known you were stepping into a minefield of smartass comments when you posted something vague like this...
Welcome to MacRumors :)

LOL, looks like a 3D display. You touch the screen to interact with 3D hologram objects on the inside.

My friend who works at the Arby's down the street from HQ indicated the new iMac's are going to by Hybrid Electrics. The internal combustion will come from
emptying table scraps into a very well designed Cuisinart-like hopper.
and optional attachment will allow you to make it double as a juicer.
