Quicktime Player freezes in OSX

I am running 10.2.8, I use the
quicktime player to playback
streaming audio recorded with "wiretap" from but it stops
frequently for no reason and the
whole computer freezes at the same
time if I am writing a wp doc or anything else. When i playback the same streaming from wiretap in itunes there
is no problem (but itunes has to copy
it first) any ideas or fixes?:(

Have you tried repairing permissions? (go to applications/utilities/disk utilities, select the disk and click Repair Permissions)
Failing that try deleting the file 'com.apple.QuickTime Player.plist' in your Preferences folder.
