OK heres how....

Go to target.com and make a new account and make sure you dont use the same email as your account in amazon.com or somewhere else....

ok now that you have done that select the mini ipod or whatever ipod you wish to buy.....

When you go to the screen that shows where you put your credit card theres a box saying "Do you have a promotional code_or_e-GiftCard?" type this code in "TDAW2AVETEN" this gives you ten percent off the mini ipod...go on an buy it..ok so the total for my order is...

One Day Shipping + tax + mini ipod=$261.93

only 11.93, you think its a bad real right? no that includes tax which is like 25 bucks..

So in the apple store it is.....

Mini Ipod=$249.00
2-3 Day Shipping: 8.00
Tax 257.00*8.25%(tax in cali)=21.20
=====278.20

278.20-261.93=16.27....or am i wrong?

There are better ways to save. You could
A:Be a student and get it from Apple for 229
B:Buy from amazon, pay no tax, nor shipping (neither targert not amazon have a ready stock)
C:Borrow your friends untill he is forced to buy a new one:D

You don't have to be a college student. You just have to know one. All you have to do then is to include there name anywhere in the ordering process. I typically use my wife's in c/o her. I've talked to many many Apple customer service people and they all tell me that all you need is a students name somewhere on the order.

How about a teacher of any grade College down etc..

I have two teachers in my family alone. Most people know a teacher or a College student. At least where I come from.

I dont think anyone is willing to let me use their name for my benefit or is there such a person?

sshh, just go ahead and buy it on edu discount. No one will know ;). The worst that will happen is that Apple will track you down and make you pay the extra $20. You didn't hear this from me though....;)

No, the worst that would happen is that Apple would finally get sick of people abusing the educational discount and either get suffocatingly strict on its use, or insist that purchases for edu be handled through the schools. Then schools would screw it up, or decide that for the 2% of people buying new Apples through them, it isn't worth their effort.. leaving most students and teachers without any reliable access to the discount.

That's totally me too. Should I really give a **** if I spend the extra 11 bucks or whatever? Hell, I dont care. 100 bucks off, maybe. But 11 bucks?

Sheesh.
